A Major Milestone: Over 10,000 Lives Changed
An amazing milestone has been achieved.
Since reopening the PAT clinic in 2023, more than 10,000 community and stray dogs and cats in and around Cha-am and Hua Hin have been sterilised.
This is not just a number. It represents thousands of lives protected from suffering – and countless more prevented from being born into hardship on the streets.
Sterilisation is the most effective and humane ways to address the crisis of unwanted and stray animals. Without intervention, a single pair of dogs or cats can produce hundreds of offspring. Many of these puppies and kittens face short and painful lives, dying from disease, starvation, road accidents, or abuse.
By preventing uncontrolled breeding, we reduce suffering at its source.
Sterilisation also improves the wellbeing of the animals themselves. It helps reduce behaviours such as roaming, fighting, and scent marking – behaviours that often lead to injuries, conflict with people, and further hardship. Healthier animals mean safer, more harmonious communities for both people and animals.
Importantly, every animal sterilised through our programme is also vaccinated against serious diseases, including rabies – a virus that remains prevalent, and is rising, across parts of South-East Asia. Rabies is a deadly disease to both animals and humans, yet entirely preventable. Vaccinating stray and community animals is the most humane and effective way to control its spread and protect entire communities.
At the PAT clinic, we use the latest surgical techniques and minimally invasive procedures. This allows animals to recover quickly and be safely returned to their communities on the very same day, with minimal risk of complications such as infection. Our experienced veterinary team works tirelessly to ensure every animal receives compassionate, high-quality care.
But the work is far from over.
For every animal we help, many more still need us. We aim to continue expanding our impact, reaching more communities, preventing more suffering, and saving more lives. We can only do this with the support of compassionate people who believe, as we do, that every life matters.
If you would like to be part of this life-changing work, please consider supporting our clinic through a donation. Together, we can help many thousands more.
