An Exclusive look at the People and Animals Thailand Clinic

In May 2001 Edwin Wiek founded the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) in Petchburi Province, with the aim of rescuing wild animals in need of help; injured and illegally kept or traded wildlife. With WFFT reaching maturity this month as an 18-year-old we thought it was about time to set up a new organisation, this time to fully focus on “animal welfare”. One of the main objectives is the population control of stray animals, both dogs and cats, who so often unnecessarily suffer from diseases, malnutrition and accidents. We would like to thank all people that came to share a toast with us and wish us a successful future helping the animals of Petchaburi and Prachuabkhirikhan Province.

In the month of May we are running a “soft opening” with the first spay/neuter projects starting. By June 2019 we will be opening at least 5 days a week with the aim of spaying thousands of stray animals in the Hua Hin/Cha am area, providing local rescuers and animal lovers with a free spay/neuter service and vaccinations. If you would like to help out, we still need volunteers to help with work in the clinic and transportation of dogs. Donations can also be made to our foundation “WFFT” for now by bank transfer or PayPal, but please state that the donation is for “PAT”, more info go to www.wfft.org/donate

  1. Dear PAT team,

First of all, I would like to express my respect and admiration for your commitment and your effort to help animals. I would like to contribute in some way, but I am not a veterinary professional. Are you currently carrying out some actions for dogs, cats or other animals in the area in which it’s possible to collaborate actively? I currently reside in Hua Hin, by the way, in an area where there are many stray dogs, both in temples and in urban areas. I do not have a lot of money to be able to donate what is necessary or to work as a volunteer and pay for it, but I would like to actively help as much as possible. Please let me know what you need to be done. Thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Silvia
