Progress at the PAT Clinic

สุดสัปดาห์นี้คลีนิคทำหมันและฉีดวัคซีนแห่งใหม่ได้เปิดบริการอย่างสมบูรณ์แล้ว หลังจากได้เตรียมการมาก่อนหน้านี้

ทุกอย่างดำเนินไปได้ด้วยดีกับหนึ่งสัปดาห์ของการทดสอบระบบ การผ่าตัดเเผลเล็กนั้นเป็นความท้าทายใหม่ของทีมสัตวแพทย์ ทุกคนจึงต้องเรียนรู้วิธีปฏิบัติขั้นตอนพื้นฐานในรูปแบบใหม่

โปรเจคขนาดใหญ่เเบบนี้จำเป็นต้องใช้ระบบที่พวกเขาไม่ค่อยคุ้นเคยเเละพวกเขาต้องทำความเข้าใจกับมันให้เร็วที่สุดก่อนที่คนในท้องถื่นจะเริ่มทยอยนำสัตว์เข้ามารับการรักษา

ข่าวสารเริ่มกระจายไปทั่วเมื่อคนในท้องถิ่นได้รับรู้เกี่ยวกับโครงการนี้ สัตว์ที่ต้องได้รับการทำหมันก็เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างเห็นได้ชัด นอกจากนั้นเรายังได้รับแจ้งเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับพื้นที่ที่มีปัญหาซึ่งต้องการความช่วยเหลืออย่างเร็วที่สุดเพื่อลดจำนวนที่เพิ่มขึ้นของสุนัขและแมวข้างถนน

นอกจากทำหมันเเล้วเรายังเจอเคสยากๆ อย่างเช่น
โรคมดลูกอักเสบเป็นหนอง เเละ มะเร็งมดลูก ต้องขอขอบคุณ ทีมงานเเพทย์ที่ทำงานอย่างเเข็งขันเเม้อากาศจะร้อนมากๆก็ตาม เเละการพัฒนาทางการแพทย์ที่ทำให้ทุกอย่างผ่านไปได้ด้วยดี

ทีมงานทุกคนทำงานอย่างหนักเพื่อให้ PAT เเห่งนี้ทำงานได้อย่างสมบูรณ์เเบบเเละเราคิดว่าในอนาคตเราสามารถพัตนาระบบนี้ให้มันดีขึ้นได้อีกมาก

This weekend the new Neutering and Vaccination clinic got into full swing. After months of preparation and a week of testing the systems everything worked without a glitch on the first mass neutering project.
Introducing minimally invasive techniques was a challenge for the vet team who are having to re-learn how to perform basic procedures in new ways. High volume projects require the introduction of systems that they were not familiar with and had to get up to speed with before the locals started bringing in animals on mass.

When local animal lovers heard about the project word soon spread and a trickle of arranged appointments developed into a flood of animals in need of sterilisation. We are quickly been informed of problem areas where help is desperately needed to reduce the growing populations of street dogs and cats. The need for a permanent solution is clear after a short time of operation and as word spreads the magnitude of the problem is becoming apparent.

In order to consistently work on such animals a pleasant working environment is a godsend. Sterile conditions and good lighting help make the job easier and when problems arise are essential. Nature has a habit of throwing up the unexpected. Several cases of pyometra were discovered and one case of uterine cancer. Thanks to the modern anaesthetics and drugs being used these were dealt with as they arose. Complications which can always happen and could be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Despite the temperature being in the high 30’s the animals were able to recover safely and the team work in a pleasant environment.

A lot of people worked hard to make the new PAT clinic come together and work and the future looks exciting as it develops and becomes fully staffed and operational. There are still improvements and adjustments to be made but tackling the huge problem has begun.
