We returned to Rai Mai Pattana to sterilise and vaccinate stray and roaming dogs. Click to read more.
The PAT team’s work in May 2025!
At the People and Animals Thailand (PAT) Clinic, every day bustles with activity. We are thrilled to report that in May, the team successfully sterilised 296 dogs and cats across Cha Am and Hua Hin.
Given the prevalence of homeless animals on Thailand’s streets, sterilisation remains the most humane approach to population control. Without intervention, unwanted animals born on the streets often face dire circumstances, including road accidents, starvation and disease. Sterilisation, also known as neutering or spaying, not only manages stray populations but also prevents immense suffering.
Additionally, in May, we administered 451 vaccines, including crucial rabies vaccinations. This effort is pivotal in combatting infectious diseases in Southeast Asia, safeguarding both animal and human populations.
Furthermore, we provided supplementary food to 80 vulnerable puppies and mums. 350 deworming and parasite medications were administered, 14 dogs were treated for mange and other skin conditions, and urgent care was provided to two dogs in need.
Education Days!
Teaching children about animal welfare, how to coexist with dogs, and how to protect themselves from rabies is crucial for their safety and well-being—and it also fosters compassion for companion animals.
This month, we visited Ban Thung Kham school on two separate occasions to engage 56 children in animal welfare through fun activities and exciting prizes! These events aim to provide essential knowledge to young people, especially in communities that frequently interact with stray dogs and other animals.
Community Dog Welfare Event
Big thanks to the SAO (Subdistrict Administrative Organisation) for helping us reach more tails in need! With their support, we were able to distribute vaccines and deworming treatments for more community dogs in Rai Mai Pattana — many collected by local dog owners for easy and effective care at home.
Together, we’re building healthier communities for both people and animals across Thailand.
Adopt, Don’t Shop!
We have many cats and dogs waiting for forever families, including young puppies and kittens! If you’re interested in adopting a furry friend, please contact us at pat@wfft.org.
